Motorists in Bromham and Biddenham will be reminded to watch their speed by two new mobile, speed activated signs.
The signs, purchased by Cllr Jon Gambold and Cllr Roger Rigby from their Council Ward Funds, will warn motorists who exceed the 30mph speed limit.
The signs are battery operated and mobile meaning they can be repositioned where residents request them. The signs have already been trialled in Biddenham’s Deep Spinney and are now situated outside Bromham Lower School on Grange Lane.
Cllr Roger Rigby said:
‘We were frequently contacted by residents who are fed up with speeding vehicles. These signs will be a strong reminder to motorists that they need to drive within the speed limit in Bromham and Biddenham. The installation of the speed activated signs is down to Cllr Gambold and myself, but it is well worth the effort if it reduces speeds.’
Cllr Jon Gambold said:
‘We are pleased that as the signs are mobile they can be moved between the villages and from street to street. At the moment they are situated on Grange Lane to improve road safety around Bromham Lower School. We can then relocate them to problem areas, so long as there is a suitable lamppost to install them onto safely.’
