Harrold Ward Cllr Alison Foster has met Bedfordshire Police officers following a spate of burglaries in the North Bedfordshire villages. She was pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the investigations and to emphasise the concerns of residents.
Cllr Foster sits on the Police and Crime Panel and has also joined the Bedfordshire Police Independent Advisory Group (IAG) to ensure the views of the communities in Harrold Ward are heard and that the rural areas get their fair share of police time and resources.
Cllr Foster said:
‘The recent burglaries in the North Bedfordshire villages have underlined the need for the rural areas to receive a fair allocation of police officers and resources and I have made this point to the Bedfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
‘The burglaries have obviously led to considerable concern for residents in Harrold Ward. It was therefore very important for me to meet the officers to find out how their investigations are progressing and what more can be done to provide security for rural residents.’
