Harrold Ward Cllr Alison Foster attended the Friends of Harrold-Odell Country Park (HOCP) summer social on 12th June and was pleased to be able to officially open the new outdoor classroom at the park.
This project was run by the Friends of HOCP along with Park Rangers Janet and Ed and funding was provided by the NextEnergy Community Fund which generously donated £20,000 towards the building and planting costs. Since it was finished the outdoor classroom has attracted a great deal of attention from local schools and the visiting public as a learning area to be enjoyed by the local community.
Alison said:
‘It is nice to see a big organisation with local interests giving back to the local community in such a positive and beneficial way. The learning area will benefit local school children and other visitors to the Country Park. I am delighted to see how it has been received by the local community and very grateful to the Friends of HOCP who, along with Rangers Janet and Ed all work so tirelessly throughout the year to keep our park in tip top shape.’
